Our evolution

2008 marks the beginning of a new emphasis for Promit.

From our humble beginnings in a spare bedroom in 1996, we have always been known for two things: exceptional customer service and a can-do-anything approach. Beginning as a graphic design business, Promit evolved into a solutions company offering custom web development, hosting, marketing and consulting services, as well as traditional graphic design services for printed media.

As 2007 neared the end, founder and company president Shayne Embry decided to take things in a new direction.

I’ve always strived to keep the company small and personal, but it had evolved to a point that we couldn’t keep up the pace without growing more than I wanted. I didn’t want to see us lose touch with our customers.

I was also weary of seeing clients make the same mistakes time after time, and feeling that we were a contributing factor because we allowed it to happen. Giving the customers what they ‘think’ they wanted was not giving them the results they deserved.

Rather than continuing to be good or merely sufficient at a lot of things, we will now concentrate on being exceptional at the one thing that really matters…results.

Results-oriented web consulting

On the surface that may not sound like much. After all, results is what it’s all about, isn’t it?

Well, it should be; but the prospect of getting a new web site is rarely approached with results in mind. Visual design and cost almost always prevail. Purpose, content, usability, search positioning…those are afterthoughts; yet those are the areas most important in getting results.

The customer is always right! We disagree. When it comes to getting real results on the web, the customer is often wrong.

Results-oriented web consulting is a carefully considered approach to web site marketing and customer education, whether it involves building a new site or revamping an old one. Our 11+ years experience in web site programming and development, hosting, and search engine marketing—and more importantly, the end results—gives us a qualified perspective into what’s important and what’s not.

Lord willing.
